Actual Local Locksmiths
Google's new advertising platform Google Guaranteed has made it very difficulty for anyone to search and find an actual LOCAL reputable locksmith. Google is great but nothing is organic anymore. They are squeezing out the free local Maps section and pushing more of the paid advertising. This is outside of Ad Words. The new program is called Google Guaranteed. When you search for a service the first page of Google is going to have a section with a big green check mark with Google Guaranteed next to it. Typically they show two vendors but if you press the more button you are transported to a page with nothing but vendors paying $14-$20 for your telephone call. Currently there are about 35 vendors that show up in the Bonita Springs, North Naples and Estero area. I find it alarming that about 14 of these so called verified vendors are the same company and not even local. As long as business is registered in the state of Florida, Google will allow that vendor to advertise anywhere in the state. Locksmiths are not regulated by the state so anyone can actually be a locksmith with no background checks. That is why I emphasize doing your research before letting any locksmith into your house. If the company you call refers to their employee as a tech it is a call center. Real locksmiths are "locksmiths" not "techs."
